Apple iPhone 5 vs. Samsung Galaxy S III who is best

Introduction

When we review phones we try to put them in context, and tie everything up with a snapshot of the market and the closest alternatives. Now, we usually keep droids and iPhones separate because honestly they just don't mix. But every now and then, they just cannot be kept apart. Never mind the risk of explosion.
Close windowiPhone 5 vs. Galaxy S IIIClose windowClose window
Apple iPhone 5 • Samsung Galaxy S III

So there you have it: the new iPhone 5 against the Samsung Galaxy S III. In case you're wondering why this has taken so long, we needed quality time with both phones - not just to get the reviews in, but actually use them day in, day out. Now we're ready to share our impressions and give you insights that will hopefully help decide which one is right for you.
The two phones are polar opposites in terms of design - starting from size, through the design language, to the OS philosophy, those two could hardly be more different.
Apple has everything tightly locked down. Perfection, as they see it, can only be achieved in their walled garden. With Android and Samsung there's little you're not allowed to tweak (but be careful what you wish for as the saying goes).
It's not a battle of light versus dark, it's a matter of values and beliefs - Zen-like perfection and simplicity versus nothing-is-off-limits freedom. Here's what kind of design choices that led to:

Apple iPhone 5 over Galaxy S III:

  • Thinner, lighter, more compact
  • More impressive build materials
  • Sharper screen with better sunlight legibility and more accurate colors
  • LTE on all models.
  • Samsung Galaxy S III over iPhone 5:

    • Bigger, higher-res screen
    • NFC connectivity
    • Standard USB port for data transfer and charging
    • microSD card slot for (cheap) storage expansion
    • Mass storage mode, USB Host functionality
    • Native Google Maps
    • 2GB RAM in some versions
The new iPhone is taller and thinner than its predecessor, but keeps the same screen width and pixel density, and makes sure the hand feel is not impaired. Apple also went with a brand new connector design - the Lightning port. The inconvenience of yet another standard aside, it is better in every way and has allowed Apple engineers to build a more compact phone.
Samsung, on the other hand, went all out - bigger this, more of that, let's get this in too. It adhered to industry standards and the Galaxy S III has a microSD card slot and a user-accessible battery, which makes extending the phone's life easier (e.g. expanding the storage or changing the battery when the old one starts showing its age).
Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S III going head to head
he differences in ideology are apparent in the software too - Apple's design is best executed by Apple, so they made their own maps. It's not an easy task and it will take years to get them right (it's how long it has taken their competitors to get where they are today).
Samsung on the other hand take advantage of Android's open, extendable design and piled on new features. There's barely a corner left in the OS that doesn't bear their mark.
We'll start by comparing the hardware of the Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III, with the performance of the two contenders in various real-life challenges to be examined after that.

APPLE INTRDUCES 7.9-INCH iPAD MINI

Apple introduces 7.9-inch iPad mini,

The Apple iPad mini rumors have been around for ages, but the slate finally went official. Apple has just introduced the latest iOS slate – the 7.9-inch iPad mini.

The late Steve Jobs famously slammed 7-inch slates for having no real-life application, but it seems Apple has changed its stance on the matter as the iPad mini is now a reality. It packs a 7.9-inch LED-backlit IPS screen with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels – the same as the first and second 9.7" iPads. This time around the pixel density goes higher at 163ppi thanks to the smaller display.

The iPad mini is powered by the older generation Apple A5 chipset we already met within the iPad 2. In case you need a refresh it has a 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics and 512MB RAM. The new Lightning port introduced with the iPhone 5 is here too.

The iPad mini also features a 5MP (iSight) rear camera capable of 1080p video recording. A 720p front-facing FaceTime camera is onboard as well.

The iPad mini will be available in black and white and will come with 16, 32 or 64GB non-expandable memory.

The Apple iPad mini will go on pre-order next week with market availability scheduled to start on November 2. The base model costs $329, with the 32GB and 64GB version going for $429 and $529, respectively. The Wi-Fi+Cellular model pricing starts at $459 for the 16GB

sony xperia miro price , speces

Introduction

In a world full of phones you wish you could afford, the Sony Xperia miro is one you don't have to wish too hard for. In honesty, Sony didn't work themselves too hard, but when you're putting together a portfolio from scratch, you want it built on solid foundations.
The Xperia miro is another simple package joining the ranks, filling in the blank space between the Xperia tipo and the Xperia go. The miro is a notch above the tipo, and costs an extra few bucks - Sony went about it strictly by the book without taking unnecessary risks.
Sony Xperia Miro Sony Xperia Miro Sony Xperia Miro
Sony Xperia miro official pictures
The looks of the Xperia go - minus the rugged treatment - with the Xperia tipo's internals. It's a fairly straightforward mixture that will also fill the price gap between the starter package and the rugged smartphone. Lots of choice for different budgets is the secret to a large and loyal user base.
Let's have a look now at all the features and the possible deal-breakers.

Key features

  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band UMTS support
  • 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA
  • 3.5" 16M-color LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen of HVGA resolution (320 x 480 pixels) at around 165 ppi
  • Android OS v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 800 MHz Cortex-A5 CPU, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7225A chipset
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • 4GB of inbuilt storage (2.2GB user available)
  • microSD slot (32GB supported)
  • 5 MP autofocus camera, single LED flashlight, geotagging, smile detection, touch focus
  • VGA video @ 30fps
  • Secondary VGA front-facing camera
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot
  • GPS with A-GPS
  • Accelerometer and proximity sensor
  • Standard 3.5 mm audio jack
  • Stereo FM radio with RDS
  • microUSB port (charging) and stereo Bluetooth v2.1
  • 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery

Main disadvantages

  • Middling screen quality
  • Non-hot-swappable microSD slot
  • No hardware shutter key
  • No DivX/XviD support
  • Occasional lags in the user interface
  • Mediocre audio output
The major improvements over the Xperia tipo are the bigger LED-backlit screen, the higher-res camera and the secondary cam for video calls. The screen is the same size and resolution as the Xperia go's but isn't the Bravia-backed Reality display we've seen on a number of Sony and Sony Ericsson handsets.

That and the single-core CPU, as well as the non-rugged build, has helped the Xperia miro lower the price considerably. Overall though, it's clearly a bet on the safe side - the Xperia miro is perfectly on par with its main competitors. So let's give this fella a chance and see what it's really made of.

HTC J BUTTERFLY PRICE ,AND SPECIFICATION

PRICE IN PAKISTAN =NOT AVLIABLE Inside, the HTC J butterfly runs on a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB internal memory along with a microSD card slot.
On the back is an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording and on the front is a 2 megapixel camera. The phone supports LTE and NFC and is dust and waterproof (IPX5). The HTC J butterfly is set to release in Japan on AU/KDDI in December. The phone will be sold in three colors: red, black and white. Unfortunately, this particular model will be exclusive to Japan but we are sure to see that glorious display on HTC's future models soon

SONY XPERIA VL IS XPERIA V JAPANESE CARIER

Sony Xperia VL

The Sony Xperia AX was announced at the beginning of this month as a version of the Xperia V for Japan. Now there's the Xperia VL, also for Japan. The difference here is that the AX is going to NTT DoCoMo and the VL is for KDDI.
Other than that, the Sony Xperia VL packs the same features as the Xperia V - a super sharp 720p 4.3" display, 13MP camera, dual-core Krait processor and LTE connectivity. And it's dust and water-proof too.

One feature not on the international version is the 1seg mobile TV support. Also not part of the international package is the bundled desk stand.
Anyway, the Sony Xperia VL will launch by the end of the year with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Sony's Walkman and multimedia apps. For colors, you can choose between Pink, White, Black and Blue.

LG NEXUS 4 GETS A FULL BLOWN REVIEW

LG Nexus 4 gets a full blown review:

After teasing us with a few images every other day, Belarusian website Onliner.by has now uploaded a full review of what has come to be known as the LG Nexus 4.

We can see from the images just how similar the Nexus 4 is to the Galaxy Nexus. The all-black, featureless face has become a signature of the Nexus line of phones since the Nexus S. The Nexus 4 looks practically identical to the Galaxy Nexus from the front, save for a chrome ring around the bezel. It even has the notification LED in the same place as the Galaxy Nexus.

On the back, LG has dumped Samsung's matte grey back with the typical bump near the bottom for a flat glossy back with a peculiar dotted pattern. The back of this phone still says 'with Google", but then it also says 'NOT FOR SALE', so it could change by the time the phone goes for sale.
As mentioned before, the display uses an LCD panel, but the review mistakenly states the resolution as 1280 x 720, when the actual screenshots are in 1280 x 768 resolution. This particular device was running Android 4.1.2 but it is expected the final version to run on Android 4.2.
