Samsung is forecasting record profits this quarter, and it's in part down to the huge popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S3, which it says will reach 19 million units shipped by the end of September.
Samsung's latest financial forecasts are in. Its second quarter profits are expected to be the highest quarterly results since 2008, at around £3.8bn.
It's all down to the success of Samsung's Galaxy-series phones, most notably the flagship Samsung Galaxy S3. The 4.8in Android phone is likely to become the best-selling flagship model of the lot. To date, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has sold over 20 million units, and the original Galaxy S at least 10 million, but the current model is on track to sail past the 20 million figure in its lifetime. It's forecast to hit 19 million by the end of Q3 - although this does relate to units shipped, not units sold.
